Lighting solutions.


Budderfly offers a host of lighting devices including switches and integrated power packs for your building's occupancy sensors. Coupled with the Budderfly software system, our devices are a cost effective and energy efficient way to control lighting, view lighting consumption in real-time, analyze data, and track inefficiencies. The system can automatically switch lights off or on with a preprogrammed control schedule managed from the Budderfly hosted application.

Using Budderfly's dimming Power Packs, our software interacts with a photocell to automatically adjust illumination levels based on ambient light. Budderfly also integrates with Automatic Demand Response providers, allowing you to automatically shed and control individual loads during a demand response event.

Plug load management.

Plug loads are devices that plug into a building’s electrical system including everything from computers and printers, to vending machines, water coolers, and manufacturing machinery. Plug loads can consume energy 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, even though offices are only occupied for about one-third of the time. Many devices even consume electricity in standby mode if they are left plugged in. According to the DOE, plug load energy consumption is anticipated to increase by 49% from 2014 to 2030. 

As lighting and HVAC systems become more efficient, plug loads continue to elevate as a percentage of the total building energy use. Budderfly offers several smart devices including outlets and a power strip that measures and controls plug loads down to the device level. Energy metering.

Budderfly has incorporated the ability to integrate and communicate with various third-party sub-panel meter companies. When using sub-panel metering within the system, Budderfly can provide panel measurement consumption of disaggregated load types to be able to “drill down” and provide a micro, granular level view of where energy is being consumed using the Budderfly devices. Having a better understanding of the energy use allows Users to identify areas for efficiency and better accountability for energy costs.

By providing actionable and real time energy consumption data to building owners and operators through energy monitoring commissioning of load types, electrical energy consumption can be reduced. Some of the benefits of sub-metering include providing accurate measurement and verification of an implemented project, identifying peak demand load spikes, and the ability to establish best practices by allocating energy expenses to different departments, pieces of equipment, or load sources.







HVAC integration.

HVAC typically consumes the most energy within most commercial buildings, so strategies to curb usage are critical for commercial energy expense management.  Budderfly integrates with a third-party commercial thermostat to provide not only collection of heating and cooling measurement data, but also the ability to control HVAC set points and/or assure the other BAS HVAC systems are operating efficiently while assuring maximum occupant comfort.

Many HVAC systems are under or poorly controlled, causing them to waste energy.  For Users who have an existing BMS, you can easily integrate Budderfly using the Budderfly BACnet gateway to provide more granular monitoring and alerts into the existing BMS.
